Members of the Month

Members of the Month are listed from newest to oldest.

May 2010: Sam Phan
This month has been a hectic one with the new Board of 2010-2011 coming in. However, Sam Phan takes it upon himself to make sure he has the 411 on what is going on by keeping in contact with the rest of the board members. He displayed what the KIWIN’S spirit is all about when he cheered his heart out at March of Dimes to encourage the runners. Not only was he spirited, he was also affectionate and caring towards the children of CHOC. Without a doubt, he is definitely one of the most dependable members as he proved that he is capable of taking charge of a game booth by himself. Attending the majority of the projects, Sam Phan never ceases to amaze us as he puts in more effort than just a regular member. With his dedication and spirit, he truly shined this month. Congratulations! (:

February 2010: Thi Hoang (Junior)
When the name Thi Hoang pops up, we think of the word, “crazy”, but not in a bad way of course. Thi grew tremendously as a member through the years and is a more than a member to our club. She attends many events and contributes numerous ideas to the improvement of the club. Not only does she contribute to the club as a member, she also attends board meetings and helps us accomplish various tasks whenever we are in need of help. We are extremely glad to have a dedicated member as Thi and we will miss her terribly as our club moves on to the next term. She is a very spontaneous and determined member, as she strives to become the best member of the club. Her service for our club and the community is valuable and unforgettable. We hope many members will mirror Thi’s spirit and dedication to service.

January 2010: Jennifer Phan (Freshman)
With spirit and passion, Jennifer attends every project with deep care for making the community a better place. She is up to this point, one of the most dedicated members in the club. Through this whole year of service, she logged in almost 40 hours for the club. Her involvement in the club is spectacular and the most shocking is that she is only a freshman. She never fails to amaze us, as she sometimes stay back to help at projects and events even though our shift had ended. She has a beautiful heart and we are proud to see her grow through these short months in the club into a stronger individual. Her presence can bring cheerfulness to the people around her as she never fails to entertain. Our club definitely needs volunteers who are spontaneous and as welcoming as she is and her service to the community can never be compared with.

December 2009: Joolie Nguyen (Freshman)
With so much passion and love for KIWIN’S, Joolie Nguyen has definitely been a dedicated member this month as well as previous months. She never failed to amaze us as she attends every single project this month and bypasses any other member this month. Although only a freshman, she is able to represent the club well in spirit and service. Joolie is an extremely valuable member to our club and I know she will always be a great help to the community in the future. She attends every meeting and event, and at projects, she always displays a bright countenance making everyone around her as happy or even happier. She is represented as a true KIWIN’S member.

November 2009: Nha Tong (Junior)
With so much events packed up for the month of November, it is shocking that a member would be able to attend so much events the way Nha Tong did this month. Not only did he do the club an extremely big favor by help providing rides to most of the projects, he helped log in 15 hours to service this month. He attended huge events such as Fall Rally as well as our social and projects such as Diabetes’s Walk and Autism Walk. It is extremely generous of him to take out so much of his time giving out to people in need, and therefore he definitely represents a TRUE KIWIN’S member. He is very dependable and responsible therefore our club can really rely on Nha for anything whether it is going to projects or help providing rides.

October 2009: Antoinette Loi (Freshman)
As the start of school and another brand new year for our club, we were extremely proud of freshman Antoinette Loi for her outstanding contribution to our club this month. It is not just amazing that she soared in service this month, but also that she is a freshman and new this year to our family. We are so proud that we are gathering so much young and dedicated volunteers to help out the community. Antoinette helped log in 12.5 hours for our club this month and has been on our good radar. She attended Memory Walk, where she showed her spirit and power to pump up the walkers contributing for the cure of Alzheimer’s disease. Also, she attended the Westminster Founder’s Day Parade, where she proudly marched in the parade holding the Westminster Kiwanis banner and representing our club. In addition, she provided splendid support for the festival afterwards as we help Kiwanis sell hotdogs.

September 2009: Christine Tran (Senior)
Despite the busy month of September as school begins to start, Christine Tran did not forget about KIWIN’S and still managed everything she could to contribute to the club. She definitely represents an ideal KIWIN’S member as she logs in the most hours for this month starting from projects as Backpacking for Success and Boys and Girl’s Club Envelope Stuffing. She is an extraordinary senior in our club and we value her spirit and love for service gives that gives smiles to those she volunteer for. As other seniors in the club stressed over the start of their last year in high school, Christine always kept service in her heart. We are extremely proud of her growth as a member from the previous year.
