September 2008
An ideal KIWIN’S member attends as many projects as he or she can, however, a TRUE KIWIN’S member goes above and beyond the call of duty. Jeannie Mai for September has done just that. Although she did not attain the most hours this month, she still was able to make a tremendous impact on our club. Being involved in different clubs at our school, she was able to advertise KIWIN’S and pump up our membership like no one else could. Not only that she voluntarily attended this month DCM in order to mingle with other clubs and of course sell tickets for our dance. Besides her phone and brush, the number one thing in her heart is service therefore she was able to log in the 10 hours this month from the Festival of Children.
August 2008
Never has a single member played such an important role before. Andy Phan has never ceased to amaze us this month. Not only has he logged in the most hours this month, he had also provided rides for every single project that he went to. He has attended more projects than the majority of our board member this month. Going to projects such as Pacific Symphony, Westminster Relay for Life, Backpacks for Success, AVF, Zoofari, and According to Jim. To us he is truly PHANtastic because this amazing feat can only be accomplished by Andy Phan.
July 2008
July has been full of surprises. But the most surprising of all is that Thy Le is the member of the month for July. She has been a new member this year, but has not attended much during the school year. Fortunately, summertime was her time to shine. All together she logged in 15 hours for this month at our Food bank, Safety Day, Car Wash, and Cypress Community Festival projects. Because of her awesome stigma, she contributed greatly to our logs this month. We hope that one day she will demonstrate that she can shine like a track star any time of the year. Great work! You make us excited for the upcoming school year!
June 2008
June, being the last month of the school year, made it hard for us to get members to participate in projects before the summer. But a freshman stuck it through with us. In June, Linda Nguyen attended projects such as FV Relay for Life, Pancake Breakfast, Car Wash, Underground Dance, and Sunset at the Zoo. All together she logged 22.5 hours, making her July's Member of the Month. With her diligence this month to attend all but one project, we can see that service resides in her heart. We know that we’ll see Linda Nguyen more often throughout the summer because her energy won’t burn out.
May 2008
May’s Member of the Month was one of our Juniors of the Year. Continuing her fantastic record, Michelle Nguyen has achieved the highest hours logged this month. All together she took in 11 hours attending such projects as OC AIDS Walk, the Zoo BBQ, Duckathon, and the LQ Banquet; missing only the Jet Divisional Banquet and Freedom Walk. Over the summer, she expects to take this title once again by attending as many projects as she can during her free time. We hope that this energy will last her until the end of the term and inspire others to compete with her, thus boosting up our hour logs.
April 2008
April’s Member of the Month is none other than Tiffany Luu, a freshman. She has been active since the beginning of the year and has proven to all that KIWIN’S really is a place for service. Attending the majority of our events this year, Tiffany logged in a grand total of 16 hours at such projects as Total K Day, OC Head-Start Carnival, Campus Beautification, and March of Dimes. With this new vigor, we hope that she will continue this impressive performance for the rest of the term. Thanks for the enthusiasium!
