Hey KIWIN'S! As many of you have already heard, elections for the La Quinta KIWIN'S board is here! The meeting pertaining elections is tomorrow, and VERY important, so please attend. The LQ KIWIN'S club prides ourselves in our members and most importantly, our officers. We strive to create a board of capable leaders, and we can't get very far without the help of our members, who ultimately have the final say in the selection of our future leaders. Thus, we are looking for people who are aware of the duty and the importance of their prospective job and the teamwork, responsibility, and dedication involved.

Surf City Marathon (IMPORTANT event!)
Date: Sunday, February 7, 2010
Time: 4:00 a.m – 12:p.m (REPEAT)
Location: Huntington Beach, we meet up @ Huntington Beach Sport Complex.
Task: This is a really big Kiwanis event aside from Rose Parade and there will be approximately 700 volunteers attending this event. The reason why its extremely important because it is an easy way for us to fundraise for District Convention coming up in April so please think about whether you want to go or not we will be talking more about convention in the upcoming meetings, but if you know you want to go to DCON, this project is definitely mandatory because the money will come back to you.
We need 50 people for this event and it’s important that we get this exact amount so please sign-in if you are interested. We will allow sign-ups next week too so you have time to get permission.
Jet “Metallic Madness” Fundraising Dance
As for fundraising this month, Jet is hosting a divisional dance so we can help fundraise for District Convention so please support us.
Date: Saturday, January 23, 2009
Time: 7p.m – 11p.m
Location: UCI Phoenix Grille There will be KIWIN’S members from all around attending and the dance is a good way to start off the new year!
Tickets: will be sold this week, next week, and the week of the dance so you have lots of time to think about it. Again the theme is Metallic Madness and tickets are sold by each board member so look out for us!

18 September 2008 - The First Meeting
Hi everyone! Thanks to all new and returning members for attending the first KIWIN'S meeting today during lunch in the 200 lyceum. For those of you who were not able to attend, here's what you missed:
1) In order to officially join KIWIN'S and attend projects, you must complete a member application and soap form. You can find them under the resources link on the left-hand navigation or you can click here and here. Turn in these two forms to Christina Vu or Nhat Tong, at the next meeting (september 25, 200 lyceum) along with $15 (if you attended a summer project, $13). The latest to turn in fees is October 3, 2008.
2) The fee may seem like a lot, but please remember that we will be driving you to projects. Gas is very expensive. Consider it compensation :) .
3) You only need to attend one project during the year in order to stay in KIWIN'S. But being in KIWIN'S is about giving to the community and making new friends, so we encourage you to attend more projects! Especially since we're giving you free rides.
4) You should join KIWIN'S because...
- It’s WORTH it
- Community service scores major points on college apps
- KIWIN’S is a well known club in college. They even have a college version of our club called Circle K
- We are a very social club. You can make lots of new friends!
- The most prestigious club on campus!
- Ask any returning members that attend projects with us! It’s SUPER fun, even if the job is really lame.
- You get FREE STUFF (especially FREE TSHIRTS!)

Welcome back to school everyone! The La Quinta KIWIN'S new website layout is officially complete and available to the public for view. Thanks to everyone who gave me comments and critique. The new layout also comes with some new content and special features! It is now possible to write and leave comments about past events and fundraisers (click events/fundraisers in left-hand navigation to try it out!). Contacting KIWIN'S has been made even easier with a new user-friendly form on the contact page. The board member, alumni, and member of the month pages (and much, much more!) have been upgraded as well! Feel free to leave any suggestions in the tagboard :)
I'd like to take a moment to welcome all new and potential members of LQ KIWIN'S. On this website, you will be able to find any information you need about projects, board members, meetings, and just about anything related to KIWIN'S. The process of joining a club can be difficult because of the paperwork, but everything will be explained at our first meeting on Thursday, September 18 in the 200 lyceum.
